COVID-19 (Coronavirus) update

18 March 2020

Message from Sophia Rahmani,
Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
Maple-Brown Abbott Limited

I would like to update you on the measures and precautions we are undertaking to ensure that we take care of our people and continue to provide the highest possible standard of service to our clients as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to extend globally.

We appreciate these are challenging and uncertain times for everyone. We are firmly committed to doing our part to "flatten the curve" and strongly support social distancing, both measures aimed at slowing the rate of infection and therefore the impact to health systems and the broader economy.

Business Continuity Plan and Pandemic Planning

We have recently successfully tested the ability for all of our people to work remotely without compromise to our business. We have now made the decision to proactively implement our Planning by executing a split team approach, whereby we have two teams with weekly rotations in the office and the remainder of our people working from home. We will continue to review this as the situation evolves.

We have extended our communication technology to support working from home, including video conferencing facilities which are now well established operationally. Visitors are being asked to adhere to our Visitor’s policy in line with the Australian Government Department of Health Guidelines. All key service providers have been contacted to ensure they can continue to deliver their services to Maple-Brown Abbott. We will continue to monitor these service providers closely.

Employee well-being and travel

We have implemented a range of initiatives to protect our people including:

Further updates

Maple-Brown Abbott will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on the well-being of our people and our services to you. We will continue to provide updates to you as appropriate and please let us know if, at any time, we can work better with your organisation or assist with anything you need.

Our firm has been proudly servicing our clients for over 35 years and our success and growth is based on the trust you have in us. In these challenging times we recognise the importance of this trust and believe these measures will help to mitigate the risks to us all.

We genuinely empathise with the impact this is having on our clients, our people and everyone’s family and communities, and wish you and your family and communities the best of health.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Best wishes,

Sophia Rahmani
